Special: Able to load exploding crossbow bolts (see recipe below).
Once per encounter, you can surprise and distract an enemy by firing an exploding bolt 5ft behind them. When the bolt explodes all creatures within 10ft must make a dex saving throw* or take 2d4 force damage. The bolt gives advantage just before the start of your next turn, granting advantage against the enemy for that turn.
DC = 10 + your proficiency modifier
Exploding Bolt:
Deals an extra 1d4 force damage on hit.
Carefully hallow the head of a crossbow bolt to fit a small Oil of Impact vial such that the vial will be crushed with the bolt strike's its target. To prevent immediate detonation, carefully wrap the vial in a flammable wool and bind a flint striker against the bolt's head.
Oil of Impact (Requires Poisonmakers Kit Or Alchemy Tools):
When thrown as an Action, explodes in a 10ft radius, creatures must make a DC 10 dex save or take 2d4 force damage.

While traveling at a normal or slow pace through mountainous terrain, enough ingredients can be found to make 1 Oil of Impact. Passing a DC 10 survival check allows 3 to be created instead. Passing a DC 15 survival check allows 5 to be created.
